American Chemical Society award winners for 2020

The following UC Berkeley faculty, students and alumni are the recipients of awards administered by the American Chemical Society (ACS) for 2020. Recipients will be honored at an awards ceremony on Tuesday, March 24, 2020, in conjunction with the ACS Spring National Meeting in Philadelphia

Professor of Chemistry and Molecular and Cell Biology Alanna Schepartz: Ralph F. Hirschmann Award in Peptide Chemistry, sponsored by Merck Research Laboratories.

Professor of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering Enrique Iglesia: E. V. Murphree Award in Industrial & Engineering Chemistry, sponsored by ExxonMobil Research & Engineering.

Professor of Cellular and Molecular Pharmacology, UCSF; Professor of Chemistry, UCB Kevan M. Shokat: Alfred Bader Award in Bioinorganic or Bioorganic Chemistry, sponsored by the Alfred R. Bader Fund.

Postdoc Anna Wuttig (in the lab of Dean Toste): Nobel Laureate Signature Award for Graduate Education in Chemistry, sponsored by Avantor Performance Materials.

Also, we are very pleased to announce that our alumna JoAnne Stubbe (Ph.D. '71, Chem) has been awarded the ACS Priestly Medal for 2020. This award is the American Chemical Society’s highest honor.
