Application process
We accept applications once per year for a fall semester program start. The application process opens in September and is due in early January for Fall enrollment. Admission decisions will be available by the end of February. Late applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until May 15. The program is listed under "M" for Master of Bioprocess Engineering Program.
Candidates are required to provide evidence of the following to be considered for the program.
- Bachelor of Science or equivalent degree in Chemical Engineering or related field
- Transcript from every post-secondary school ever attended
- Minimum grade-point average (GPA) of 3.0 (B) on a 4.0 scale
- 3 letters of recommendation
- A Statement of Purpose and Personal History Statement
- If your GPA was not based on a 4.0 scale, you must convert it to a 4.0 scale and provide the conversion in your application materials
- English Language Proficiency
- TOEFL tests taken prior to January 21, 2026 and within the last two years: 90 minimum total score
- TOEFL tests taken on or after January 21, 2026: 5 minimum total score, with minimum speaking and writing section scores of 4.5
- IELTS: 7 minimum total score, with minimum speaking and writing section scores of 6.5
