This specialization is ideal for someone who wants to work for semiconductor and microelectronics companies like Applied Materials, Lam Research, Intel, Micron Technologies, Apple, etc. This is our most popular specialization and after the passage of The Chips Act, demand for our students has gone up substantially.

Alternative Energy / Sustainability

This specialization is suitable for students who wants to work for (1) battery companies (Tesla, Lyten, etc.), (2) thermal energy storage companies (Rondo, Antora Energy, etc.), (3) EV companies (Tesla, etc.) (4) solar and wind companies, or (5) fuel cells and electrolyzers companies (Bosch, Advent Energy, Bloom Energy, Hyaxiom, etc.). Another area that is generating a lot of attention is the burgeoning food-tech industry (Impossible Foods, Beyond Meat, Perfect Day, Upside Foods, etc.).

Biotechnology / Drug Development / Medical Devices

This specialization is ideal for someone who wants to work for pharmaceutical companies like Pfizer, Merck, etc., or biopharmaceutical companies like Genentech, Amgen, etc., or medical devices companies like Johnson & Johnson, Intuitive Surgical, etc. Another area that is generating a lot of attention is the burgeoning food-tech industry, good for someone who wants to work for cell culture companies making meats and dairy in reactors like Perfect Day, Upside Foods, etc.

Consumer Products

This specialization is well-suited for individuals who wants to work for traditional consumer products companies like Procter & Gamble, Unilever, Clorox, etc., beauty care companies, or other packaged consumer products companies such as food companies.

Manufactured Product Technology

This specialization is ideal for students who want to work for traditional industries such as chemical companies like DuPont, Dow, BASF, etc. or traditional consumer products companies like Procter & Gamble, Unilever, Clorox, etc. These are very large industries with large multinational companies.

There are many courses on campus open to our students, including classes at the Haas School of Business, that cover the essentials of entrepreneurship, including ideation, idea development, market research, customer identification, and investor pitching.
