Summer Bridge Program

In Summer 2021, the College of Chemistry designed a new course for the Summer Bridge Program called Preparation for General Chemistry for CoC Majors (Chem 34). This six week, 4 credit lecture + lab course is designed to help students develop study habits, chemical vocabulary, knowledge of essential chemistry concepts, and laboratory techniques that are needed to succeed in CHEM 4A and beyond.

Through this program, students are engaged in the larger community of chemistry through historical anecdotes, immersion in current research via lightning talks from graduate students and professors, and interactions with members of the CoC community (professors, graduate students, peers, and advisors).
