Year: Freshman
Arjun Garapaty is a first year student from Overland Park, Kansas, studying Chemical Biology. His primary interest is in CRISPR-Cas9 gene-editing technologies and their therapeutic applications. Arjun hopes to pursue a concentration in computational chemistry so that he can one day combine computer science and chemistry skills to analyze vast amounts of genomic data. He joined the Gift Campaign because of his desire to help bring the CoC community closer together through fun and engaging events. Outside of school, Arjun plays IM Soccer, is part of the Cal Club Table Tennis team, and is a member of the Indian Students' Association Council. In his free time, he enjoys watching sports, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
