The chemistry department is pleased to announce the appointment of David Limmer as Assistant Professor of Chemistry beginning July 1, 2016. Limmer will join the faculty from the Princeton Center for Theoretical Science, where he will continue to work as postdoctoral fellow until next summer.
Limmer earned his Ph.D with David Chandler in the Berkeley chemistry department. As a theorist and practitioner of statistical mechanics and quantum dynamics, he is broadly interested in nonequilibrium phenomena in complex, condensed phase systems.
Specific themes in his work include theories of phase transitions in and out of equilibrium, highly correlated dynamics such as in glassy materials, and the importance of collective effects in condensed phase reactions.
