Shawn Pugh

Shawn Pugh is the Director of Process Development at Gilead where he focuses on pivotal and commercial cell culture. Before joining Gilead, Shawn spent time at Exelixis where he worked on the development and manufacturing of antibodies and bispecifics. Prior to Exelixis, Shawn worked at Boehringer Ingelheim where he led a group of scientists and engineers responsible for upstream process development, technology transfer, scale-up, PQ support, and regulatory submissions. Earlier in his career, Shawn worked at Genentech doing late-stage cell culture process validation and submission of regulatory documents. Shawn earned a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Nevada, Reno, and a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Arizona State University.
