Jolene Ignowski is CMC (Chemistry, Manufacturing & Controls) Lead at Bayer Pharmaceuticals. Jolene has over 20 years of experience in pipeline therapeutic development and complex biologics. She began her career at Bayer in 2005 and was instrumental in the process development, clinical manufacturing, and launch of two commercial hemophilia products: Kovaltry and Jivi. She transitioned to gene therapy supporting a hemophilia treatment project and worked with a CMO on the viral vector production. In 2020, she took over as head of the downstream clinical manufacturing group, ensuring the successful production of monoclonal antibodies for use in clinical trials. Since 2024, Jolene has been leading CMC project teams developing and manufacturing the latest biopharmaceutical products for clinical trials. Jolene earned a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Wyoming and her Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering at UC Berkeley, working on adult neural progenitor cells and gene therapy with Prof. David Schaffer.
