Dr. Jing Li, a postdoctoral researcher in Dr. Shiyu Xia's lab within the Department of Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering, has been selected as a 2026 Fellow of the Jane Coffin Childs Memorial Fund for Medical Research (JCC Fund).
Dr. Li is part of an elite cohort of 32 early-career scientists chosen globally for their exceptional research achievements and potential to advance the understanding of human disease. The fellowship provides three years of stipend support as part of a collective $9 million investment by the JCC Fund and its philanthropic partners.
"The 2026 JCC Fellows represent scientists with the training, the drive, and the imagination to ask questions the rest of us haven't thought to ask yet," said Sue Biggins, Ph.D., chair of the JCC Fund's Board of Scientific Advisors.
Dr. Li's appointment highlights the exceptional caliber of research emerging from the department and further solidifying the College's standing as a world-class hub for biomedical innovation.
Established in 1937, the JCC Fund has spent nearly 90 years funding pioneering biomedical research to catalyze remarkable scientific careers and accelerate breakthroughs in cancer and human health.
