Answers
Q: Why is MCB 100 or 102 not included as a requirement? A: Chemistry 135, Chemical Biology, is required instead. Q: Can Chemistry 1B be substituted for Chemistry 4B? A: Students who have not yet taken a second semester of general chemistry should plan to take Chemistry 4B instead of 1B. Q: Since the Chemistry 3A and 4B course descriptions indicate that there is a credit restriction between Chemistry 3A and 4B, what effect does this have on course units? A: The credit restriction between Chemistry 3A and 4B has been eliminated effective Fall 2002. Q: Are simultaneous degrees in Molecular and Cell Biology and in Chemical Biology allowed? A: Students may petition for simultaneous degrees as long as no more than two upper division courses overlap between the majors. Q: Is a double major in Chemistry and Chemical Biology allowed? A: No. Students can choose to major in Chemistry or Chemical Biology, but not both. |
