EFFECTIVE SPRING 2009

Chemistry 3A and 3AL
Students are no longer required to take Chemistry 3A and 3AL concurrently.

EFFECTIVE FALL 2008

Chemistry 4A - 4B
Prerequisite changed to: High school chemistry; calculus (may be taken concurrently); high school physics recommended.
Course restriction changed to: Students will receive no credit for 4A after taking 1A. Students will receive no credit for 4B after taking 1B. Students will receive 3 units of credit for 4B after taking 15.

Chemistry 103
Course restriction changed to: Students will receive two units of credit for 103 after taking 104B.

Chemistry 104A - 104B
Course restriction removed from 104A.
Course restriction changed to: Students will receive two units of credit for 104B after taking 103.

Description changed to: An interdisciplinary course on the synthesis, characterization, and properties of polymer materials. Emphasis on the molecular origin of properties of polymeric materials and technological applications. Topics include single molecule properties, polymer mixtures and solutions, melts, glasses, elastomers, and crystals. Experiments in polymer synthesis, characterization, and physical properties.
