College of Chemistry dean and CBE professor Douglas Clark has won the 2014 James E. Bailey Award from the Society for Biological Engineering.
The Society for Biological Engineering (SBE), an AIChE Technological Community, is a global organization of leading engineers and scientists dedicated to advancing the integration of biology with engineering.
The society’s award recognizes outstanding contributions in the field of biological engineering. It honors the memory of James Bailey for his many pioneering contributions to biotechnology.
Says CBE chair Jeff Reimer, “This is the premier award for the field of biological engineering, and former winners include Harvey Blanch and Bob Langer. It is especially personal for Doug since he received his doctorate in 1983 working with Jay Bailey.”
The award will be presented during the annual AIChE meeting, Nov. 16-21, in Atlanta, GA.
