A symposium in honor of chemistry professor Robert Bergman's 70th birthday will be held on Saturday, June 16, at the Banatao Auditorium, Sutardja Dai Hall. Bergman came to the College of Chemistry in 1977. During his career, Bergman, the Gerald E. K. Branch Distinguished Professor of Chemistry, has mentored more than 200 graduate students, undergraduates and postdocs. He is a member of the National Academy of Sciences and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and has received numerous awards for his research and teaching including the American Chemical Society’s Arthur C. Cope Award and the National Academy’s Award in Chemical Sciences.
