The Berkeley Center for Green Chemistry (BCGC) has announced its presence to the world by going live with its new website.
A center under the Berkeley Institute of the Environment, BCGC is the nation's first major academic program to advance green chemistry through interdisciplinary scholarship. The center is headed by chemistry professor John Arnold.
The center consists of faculty, researchers, and students in the College of Chemistry, School of Public Health, College of Engineering, College of Natural Resources, the Berkeley School of Law, and the Haas School of Business.
The center's interdisciplinary approach stresses successful development and adoption of benign chemicals and chemical processes, the integration of innovative chemistry and engineering, an understanding of the health and ecosystem effects of synthetic chemicals, and the ways in which policy and law guide industrial innovation and change.
The new url for the BCGC website is: http://bcgc.berkeley.edu. A link to the BCGC website can also be found on the College of Chemistry's website by clicking on the "Centers and Institutes" tab.
