Computer Use Policy

The following Computer Use Policy has been adopted by the University of California and is in effect for the College of Chemistry.

The pertinent points covered are:

Access to computers and networks is a privilege, not a right.
Users must respect the rights of other users.
Users must respect the integrity of the systems and other related physical resources.
Files are subject to search under court order.
System administrators may access user files as required within existing legal context.
Misuse can be prosecuted under applicable statutes.
Illegal reproduction of software protected under U.S. Copywrite law is subject to civil damages and criminal penalties
