Contact with Faculty Members
To facilitate the exchange of information and provide ready access to the faculty, each member company will:

have a designated faculty liaison, typically chosen from an area of research of special interest to the individual company
receive special invitations to faculty and departmental seminars and special lectures
be encouraged to develop informal relationships that can lead to more formal consulting and research agreements

Recruiting Services
While the College assists recruiters from many companies, Industrial Friends, because of their increased contact with faculty and more detailed knowledge of the College program, often find themselves with advantages in their visits to campus. Industrial Friends also have priority to receive special recruiting services, including:

convenient access to information about potential candidates, including graduate students and postdoctoral fellows
use of the limited meeting rooms in the College for group presentations and conducting interviews
departmental support in scheduling appointments
assistance in making reservations for local accommodations
courtesy parking

Visiting Scientists
Member firms are invited to speak directly to individual faculty members about opportunities for industrial scientists to pursue research in their laboratories at Berkeley.

Publications
Designated representatives of member firms will receive:

the annual College announcement of fields of study and course offerings
the quarterly College Newsletter, which covers research news, new appointments, and other matters of interest
the semiannual College News Journal
a listing of research activities of each faculty member, including bibliographic information, upon request
the Annual Report of Private Giving, recognizing private contributions to the College

Special Releases
In addition, Industrial Friends will receive upon request:

reports of patents issued to faculty members or students
information on licensing agreements
early press releases and preprints regarding important research conducted in the College
abstracts of graduate theses completed in the Department(s)

Recognition
The generous participation of our Industrial Friends is also recognized with handsome brass plaques that are prominently displayed in the College’s reception area and in the main hallways of the departments, and with listings in the Annual Report.

Staff Liaison
The College Relations Office, in conjunction with the chemical engineering and chemistry department offices, provides a staff liaison to arrange for recruiting, tours, and other special needs of member firms.
