Senior Sho Takatori was the 2012 student commencement speaker for the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering. He became interested in chemistry as a high school student when he took chemistry classes and become fascinated with how mathematics can be applied to explain natural phenomena. Next fall he will attend Caltech for his doctorate in chemical engineering. |
The College of Chemistry commencement ceremony was held in Zellerbach Hall on May 13, 2012. The ceremony was followed by a gathering on lower Sproul Plaza. The commencement address was given by Nobel Laureate Dudley Herschbach, the Baird Professor of Science, Emeritus, at Harvard University. The ceremony featured student speakers Crystal Kitying Chu (Chemistry) and Sho Takatori (Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering). |
