The American Institute of Chemical Engineers has honored four Berkeley professors of chemical engineering — Alex Bell, Harvey Blanch, Jud King, and John Prausnitz — by naming them to the list of “One Hundred Engineers of the Modern Era.”

This year marks the 100th anniversary of the founding of AIChE. To celebrate this milestone, AIChE has developed lists of individuals who contributed most significantly to the profession and to society.
A special review panel used multiple ballots to select the members of the list, narrowing it down from the nearly 1,000 names suggested. This list will be spotlighted on AIChE’s Centennial web site and the awardees will be honored at this year’s AIChE annual meeting in Philadaelphia, PA, November 16-21.
